27 Oct 2004 - PowerLinx, Inc. Signs Up New Distribution Partner, WinTron Technologies

WinTron to Market and Distribute PowerLinx Security and Vision Systems

TIERRA VERDE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 2004--PowerLinx, Inc. (OTCBB:PWLX - News), the leader in powerline communication products, has signed up WinTron Technologies, www.wintrontech.com, to market and distribute PowerLinx security and transportation vision systems. Initially, WinTron will offer the SecureView(TM), "camera in a light bulb" and PowerLine Vision Systems(TM) (PLVS) to its customers. And, WinTron is expected to add new PowerLinx products as they become available in the future.

SecureView(TM), the "camera in a light bulb" simply screws into any light socket. Inside the "bulb" is a sophisticated low-light monochrome camera coupled to exclusive IRFS(TM) circuitry. This circuit "encodes" the video and feeds it directly to the power line. Each camera has a companion "decoder" which plugs into any wall outlet. A standard video cable connects the decoder to any TV or VCR. It's simple and easy. There are no wires to run, no holes to drill, and no antennas or complicated "tuning" is required.

The PLVS(TM) system is PowerLinx's patented power line on board rear & side vision camera system. The system uses PowerLinx's patented analog power line technology, consisting of small environmentally sealed transmitter and receiver modules, which connect to a vehicle's wiring harness. Video from side or rear-vision cameras is sent to the driver via PLC (power line carrier) for viewing on a flat-panel or green phosphorous video display. Since the PLVS system accepts standard EIA/RS-170 video signals, the technology can be retrofitted to a wide variety of equipment. This functionality is sold in a variety of configurations, from single-camera rear vision systems, to multiple-camera systems with automated switching controls and DC digital video recorders. The system enhances vehicle safety and provides property loss savings through reduced accident rates which is expected to lower insurance rates and improve driver working conditions.
